Grandmas patchwork of love

This was my first photo quilt for a friend's mom.  Gotta love Christmas at the Capitol.

Game time for Coach K

Coach K's wife is a coworker and friend.  He moved to town this year after they got hitched and she wanted to surprise him with a quilt from all of his tshirts from his last high school.  This is pretty no frills, but I hope he likes it.

Zoologie

This was done for my coworkers' baby R.  Mama had picked an animal nursery theme and I have been dying to use this fabric.

Quilt tag  inspired from a post on pinterest.

Comfort quilt

For me, it seems like the more people I follow on caringbridge, the more people I follow on caringbridge.  This was a quick patchwork comfort quilt for a "new" cancer patient, who was a friend of a friend.  I'm drawn to homespun fabrics because they are so soft, homey and snuggly.

O's ladybug garden

O's Ladybug Garden was done for my buddy O in celebration of her 5th birthday.  She will complete chemo treatment in October and hopefully have some rockstar scans in November.

Hot harley nights

The auction ended with 3 bids and a final of $60.  While it wasn't as much as I had hoped for, I was reminded that it was better than a kick in the pants and a good place for me to work forward from.

Next year, king size!

Baby M's Rockstar Quilt

I wanted to try out a carpenter/swoonery star for a baby quilt.  I used no white on this quilt, my quilt lady called it breaking out of my box. :)  I used a simple plain gray minky on the back and a striped binding, striped binding is my new favorite.  Quilted in argyle by myself.

Kindle cover

AMac left for school earlier this summer.  She has plans for a local Vo-Tech college and wanted to get moved so she'd be able to find employment ahead of everyone else who enrolls in the fall.  AMac's mama had a pretty tough go of her last week.  She was pretty emotional, much like most mamas would be.

I wanted to do soemthing nice for her, and as luck would have it, I came across a pattern for a kindle cover that would fit C's new iPad mini.   In an effort to really make her cry, I used scraps leftover from AMacs quilt.

Hot Harley Nights

This was a donation quilt for this year's Hot Harley Nights.  HHN is a huge fundraiser for the Make A Wish Foundation which is pretty dear to my heart.   I wanted to make a bigger quilt thinking it might raise more money, this ended up being slightly larger than a lap size.  Let's see what happens!

M's first two years

M's mom was nice enough to let me chop up some of her baby clothes and create a first year quilt.  The backing used was purple plaid sparkle.

J's tshirt quilt

J contacted me about making a tshirt quilt from her favorite high school basketball, dance adn figure skating shirts.  This was my first, so yes, it's one of my favorites.  I love the bright colors, there's a black and white zebra on the back.

Junebug needed in on the action as well.

Baby Sparks KU Jayhawk blankie

Another minky quilt.  This one went to Omaha for a friend's new little guy.  He was born a big Jayhawk fan.

Baby Tollefson's Vikings minky quilt

I have a love hate relationship with these minky sports quilts.  I hate sewing with minky.  HATE it.  It is such a pain in the rear but they always end up looking so cute.

This Vikings quilt was done for my cousin .  Her hsuband and soon to be little beast are Vikings fans.  They have decided to stay gender neutral until they find out when HE arrives.  Mark my words, it's a BOY!

Creepy Christmas doll quilt

My good friend LJ has had this pattern and fabric sitting in her stash for a long time.  I volunteered to make it for her.  This was my first time trying out stars, flying geese, and log cabins.  it took some adjustment but I got it finished and she was happy with it.

Countryside Hospice raffle quilt

I named the quilt "Hope is Powerful".  This was a collaberative effort between me, my folks, and our friend Shawn.  This quilt was donated for a raffle to our local hospice organization to help raise money for transportation costs for their clients.  The 14 colors used in the quilt represent different types of cancer.

ALL proceeds go back into the community to help with travel for cancer treatments. $88,655 has been gifted in the last fiscal year for travel funds for cancer patients who must leave our community for care.

Baby Newcomb's quilt

I had two orders for these bridesmaid refurb quilts in 1 week.  My buddy D wanted something to gift back to her now-expecting bride.  Only requirements were that the quilt be gender neutral.  I think it turned out well.  I did notice after I had it bound that I didn't quite make the Jacob's ladder pattern correctly, I'll get it next time.

Bertsch Baby quilt

The black on this quilt was originally a bridesmaid dress.  My friend S. wanted to refurb her bridesmaid into a baby quilt to regift back to the now-expecting bride.  She's a big fan of chevron, so mod chevron it was.  I wasn't sure how blue zebra was going to match with a brown giraffe print but I loved it when done.

Mom and baby also love it.

Sparks baby quilt

I made this using the sparkle plenty baby quilt pattern found on Etsy.  I used Robert Kaufman solids

Sparks wedding quilt

This is a wedding quilt I made for my friend's wedding.  I used the Michael Miller/Patty Young Sanctuary fabric line.  I'm obsessed with these fabrics.  The pattern was from Elizabeth Hartmann's Oh Fransson blog.

Mary's retirement quilt

This was a fun retirement quilt for my coworker's retirement.  Mary loves the log cabin style quilts and star quilts.  This was perfect since it incorporated both.

Arielle's senior quilt

This is my cousin's senior quilt.  Initially i was going to have her use it as a guestbook...but then after I got it back from my quilter and finished the binding, I couldn't bear the thought of people writing on it.  AMac got a denim quilt for a guestbook instead. :)

I LOVE the sanctuary line from Michael Miller/Patty Young collection.  This is the second quilt I've made from that one line. SO FUN!

Abram's baby quilt

My friend J was expecting her very first child and wanted something fun for Baby Abram's crib.  I was so honored to make this for her and her little man.  The mustache tag says it all.
